Artist's Comments

I finally got this one finished. This piece was commissioned by an associate of the surviving members and families of the VF-17 "Jolly Rogers". Initially the idea was a painting featuring Ike Kepford's plane however, upon discussion, we decided it would be a fitting tribute to the four surviving members of the saquadron if we included their airplanes too. (Sadly Jack Chasnoff passed away last month before I was able to finish the piece.) The pilots/aircraft featured in the painting are:

#29 - Ira "Ike" Kepford
#33 - Mel "Kurly" Kurlander
#39 - Bill "Country" Landreth
#20 - Jack Chasnoff
#8 - Robert "Hal" Jackson

Corsairs have such an unique look! I think you gave them what they deserve :)

BTW, I think it's better with those 5 Corsairs than with only one.
