"The Southern Serves The South" was the slogan of the Southern Railway in the US. Here's my latest railroad piece. It depicts a Southern Railway Type Ps-4 Pacific locomotive. The Southern was reknowned for keeping their locomotives in pristine condition. Most railfans agree this was the most beautiful Pacific type locomotive ever made. I agree.

The green paint scheme was copied from the Southern Railway in England. The owner of the Southern Railway (US) made a trip to England and was so taken by the green paint scheme they used he implemented it on his railroad. It was an instant hit.

Wow this is a beautiful work Mark, I love everything in it! :)
the engine is awesome!! ;)
Awesome job! Wow! Growing up, the Southern was my second favorite railroad since it was only 9 miles away. Road on several excursions behind restored Southern 4501 in the 1970s. :)
