lol I must ask again of your technique because this is too realistic. Its the background painted or photomanipulated?

I wonder how (un)comfortable it is to sit for days on end inside a tank like that. Russians aren't known for giving their tankers a lot of room to breathe.

sadly to admit but it's not only about the tank pilots.. it's about all the russian people in each side of life = (

I can only make guesses about Russians these days, since I live close to the border of Russia, but I was referring specifically to the Russian tank crewmen inside a T-90 MBT. The tank is ridiculously small for people of European descent*, so I'd imagine it's extremely cramped there.

* - I mentioned European descent, because those of European descent are known to be on average taller and bulkier than the rest of the humans.

all i know about russian tank forces is that they have to choose the shortest and thinnest men for crew, so your mentions are right.. these machines are not about to be comfortable.... and it's bad as i think, coz the best circumstances for men mean their best work results - even for warfare = )

I'd guess it's kind of proper and makes sense that thin and short men are inside a tank, especially considering that the usually physically strongest man (loader) is absent from Russian tanks (due to autoloader systems).

i thought autoloader system is just a part of the progress of all modern tanks in each country with best military technologies (not only in Russia).... do you mean that the US or European machines still have men-loaders?

With the notable exception of the AMX Leclerc (France), Western MBTs do not use autoloaders. It was proven that autoloaders are very unreliable in battlefield conditions and they can jam up at times. Additionally, an autoloader-integrated firing system cannot switch out rounds present in the chamber, thus making it harder to engage various targets considering that tanks usually have multiple types of ammunition (HEAT rounds for lightly-armored vehicles, APFSDS-T (Sabot) for heavily-armored vehicles and HE for infantry).

Besides, the United States Army has a demand for all loaders to be able to reload the M1 Abrams's 120mm main gun in 7 seconds or less before they are accepted into that position. Under certain conditions, a well-trained and experienced loader can reload the gun much faster. Autoloaders take at least one extra second than the acceptable limit of the US Armed Forces and it's impossible to go faster. In that sense, a human loader is a much better way of responding to threats on the battlefield simply because a human loader can load faster and swap out ammunition from the chamber if need be.

Wait, this is a painting, no photography or anything? Incredible! The water effect, especially the reflections in the pool, are uncanny. And the trees look lifelike! You're clearly a master of both natural and mechanical painting.

Incredible...

All the dirt and mud thrown into the air made me think. What about a picture of a BMP rolling through European hills, Cold-War Russian infantry running along side it?

Thanks. I don't really like the BMP. I've often thought of a similar scene with WWII American troops.

Like an M2 Halftrack with it's infantry dismounting? I think a German one would be cool, too. The German half-tracks are very distinctive vehicles.

Truly a remarkable outcome of modern day's engineering. This beast here may probably be on par with the M1A1 Abrams.

It is a good tank but I wouldn't put it on par with the Abrams, Leopard II or Challenger 2.

Nah ill vote for the T-90 all the way.Remember that a T-90 has range farther than an Abrams (5-6km weapon range)and at close range can tear through shi* with its TCHEAT warhead ammunition :D
