Mighty Memphis

SSN-691 USS Memphis was launched in 1976. One of the Los Angeles Class nuclear attack submarines, the "Mighty Memphis" has prowled the seas in defense of human freedom for more than 30 years. In 1981 she circumnavigated the globe via the Panama canal and operated with both the US Sixth and Seventh fleets. The "Mighty Memphis" is scheduled to be decommissioned in 2011.
