Endgame - A34 Comet by markkarvon Endgame - A34 Comet by markkarvon
The A34 Comet is widely regarded at Britain's best all around tank of World War II. It didn't enter service until December of 1944 so it didn't have a chance to make a major impact. The Comet is generally considered the relative equal of Germany's legendary Panther.

Unfortunately the British didn't have many good designs in WWII. Even the Comet has flat panels and a turret that sits rather high, as opposed to the Panther's sloped armor. The problems the Germans always faced were that they had too many designs, (largely due to to Hitler), not enough tanks overall, and designs that were complicated and difficult to maintain.

The Panther had slightly better armor and the bigger barrel lenght making it more powerful.
But the bigger numbers, as with all allied war machines, makes the difference I think. Add air superiority to the list.

The German machines were definitely superior for the day. It is a good thing for all of us the Nazis did not win the war.

Exactly. I am very thankful to the Allies. Today we have in Germany as much freedom as you can have.

Two Tempests, also know as the best low altitude fighter of the War. It also arrived too late and too few in the War to have a major impact but quickly earned a reputation of jet killer

Love the Typhoons in the air, purely British picture I would even have it framed. My opinion doesn't mean much, but I would hang this up on my wall.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it.

The Avro Arrow is a nice airplane but unless you specifically commission the piece, you most likely will be waiting for a long time. Each one of my paintings represents at least 60 or more hours in research and creation time. I just cannot afford to invest that kind of time on requests. In addition to that I also spend a large portion of my time selling and marketing my portfolio. I'm sure you understand I have to take care of business first. The priority is to keep the lights on.

I spend enough time doing what other people pay me to do that if/when I do get some free time in between commissioned works and business matters I like to paint what I am enthusiastic about at the time to unwind.

I was just poking fun, being a pest. No harm meant. My apologies if it aggrevated you. I love all your work and love seeing what you come up with next.

I'm a crazy canadian what can I say. Perhaps I will look into a commision in the future.

No problem. I'm not aggrevated. I just wanted to make sure you knew my position on it.

I get alot of requests. Some people really feel hurt if you don't feel enthusiastic about painting their favorite subject. They don't mean any harm; they just don't realize it takes alot of work to produce art on a professional level.
